Verizon Strike Looming — Stand United with Union Workers and their Families
For nearly a year, unionized Verizon workers have been holding regular rallies about the ongoing contract dispute with the company. It appears that the union is now prepared to go on strike.
Verizon employees from Massachusetts to Virginia, are prepared to walk out if a labor settlement is not reached by Wednesday, April 13 at 6 a.m.
The contract that Verizon had with the CWA and IBEW expired August 1, 2015 and covered approximately 40,000 workers.
The Association of BellTel Retirees has a long history of standing united with union workers and their families, and will continue to do so. Jack Brennan, Association President said, “The Association of BellTel Retirees asks that our members decline to replace striking workers should the company ask. These union workers are fighting for the healthcare and pension protections for themselves and their families.”
