If you cannot get to the Annual Membership Meeting we will bring a “Mini-Membership Meeting” to you!
In the Mid-State Area we have thousands of members of the Association of BellTel Retirees Inc. In fact, four members of the Association’s Board of Directors live within a short drive of your home. We want to meet you and we are making it very easy for us to get acquainted by hosting three mini membership meetings in November. These will be smaller intimate community meetings, with probably no more than 50 people attending. The discussion will be informal and everyone should be able to ask questions and get answers.
We hope you will be able to join us and meet these local Association board members:
Pam Harrison — Past C.W.A. President Local 1103 RMC. Pam is current Vice President of Union Relations of our Association as well as Association Secretary.
John Hyland – Retired C.O.T. from the Bronx and C.W.A. Former Chief Shop Steward Local 1101, and current President of the N.Y.C. Auxiliary Police Benevolent Association since 1974, with 2,800 members. John is also on the Board of Directors of our Association.
Tommy Steed — Retired C.W.A. Organizer for Local 1120 and Linesman out of Newburgh. Tom has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore and is a Member of the Board of Directors of our Association.
Jack Cohen — Retired Business Office Manager and Staff Manager Expense of the Customer Services V.P. Staff in Manhattan and Executive V.P. of our Association.
We have lots to talk about:
- Impact of the new contract
- Move of management pensions to Prudential
- Litigation with Verizon over IDEARC (Directory)
- Annual Meeting in Annapolis
- H.R. 1322
- What the Association means to you
- Any other issues of importance to you
We will hold three meetings. One of these meetings will be an easy drive from your home. If you can’t make one meeting at a convenient location you may be able to make one of the two others. Please bring friends, whether members of the Association, or not. We will be discussing issues important to all retirees, not only from Verizon.
